PADI Emergency Oxygen Instructor

Providing oxygen to an injured diver can make a difference in the diver's chances of recovery. Oxygen is important in the treatment of diving injuries, and quite often is the only form of first aid provided to injured divers. Oxygen can also be vital in first aid in non-diving medical emergencies like heart-attack, stroke and shock!

Every diver should know how to supply oxygen, and the precautions that apply to its use. Learning to provide oxygen is easy, and the PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider program is the perfect way for a diver to learn how and when to provide oxygen. The PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider uses easy to use oxygen delivery devices including the demand valve, non-rebreather mask, pocket mask with oxygen inlet and manually triggered resuscitation valve.

The PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider Specialty Instructor Training Course teaches the PADI Professional how to deliver this course, and how it can be integrated into other PADI courses, particularly the Rescue Diver program. The PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider Specialty Instructor Training Course takes less than 1 day, and is scheduled regularly at all venues.

Prerequisites

To participate in the PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider Specialty Instructor Training course, an individual must be a Teaching status PADI Instructor, PADI Assistant Instructor or active status PADI Divemaster.

Workplace Emergency Oxygen Training

The PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider course is appropriate for all divers and non-divers who may support divers (boat captains, lifeguards, family, friends, etc). In Australia, however, for it to be suitable for people in the workplace, additional training to meet a nationally recognised training course standards must be undertaken.

PADI Asia Pacific's RTO offers an upgrade to the standard PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider course that will result in a Statement of Attainment for the recognised course 22100VIC: Course in Basic Oxygen Administration.

Completing this PADI Emergency Oxygen Instructor Course and the EFR First Aid at Work Instructor Course, and registering with the PADI RTO, will allow the instructor to teach the PADI Emergency Oxygen Instructor course, with successful participants reciving the nationally recognised statement of attainment for 22100: Course in Basic Oxygen Administration.
